The Scientific Program of Presentations is being developed. Please, expect to receive a communication requesting proposals for presentation to the group. The presentations will be distributed throughout the trip and will occur each day around 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

TRAVEL DAY – August 27, 2010

Arrive in Sun Valley, Idaho. This world-class resort village is located at the southern edge of the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states, and the opportunities for outdoor recreation are numerous. Unlimited activities, perhaps the greatest luxury of all - choice.

Far & Away Adventures and guides will meet with you this evening. We will discuss last minute details, answer any questions with regards to the packing of our clothes and pick up any last minute items. You will find no detail is too small, you can count on Far & Away Adventures travel planners to get every detail just right.

What we strive to do, and are very good at, is to anticipate your needs before you even have to ask.

EXPLORE THE MIDDLE FORK - August 28 – September 1, 2010

Following breakfast we'll depart for the river put-in at approximately 8 a.m, flying via backcountry aircraft. Along the way you will skirt awesome snowcapped peaks of the Sawtooth Mountain Range and catch glimpse of bighorn sheep, elk and deer. Only to be stunned by the remoteness and beauty of the canyon as you land at the Lodge, riverside on the legendary Middle Fork.

Far & Away Adventure guides and boats will be waiting for your family riverside. After a brief orientation and safety talk, we will launch for an adventure on the Middle Fork. Our goal is to provide you with wonderful memories for years to come.

Experience, level of service, professional guides and choice is what sets Far & Away apart. There is no other river company which offers the array of equipment and service options for their guests. A full flotilla of boats offers more paddling opportunities and allows the guests to reinvent their vacation each day.

After a day of incredible experiences, we make sure everything you need is ready and waiting at a camp set for your arrival; leaving you free to enjoy this wilderness paradise. Perhaps you will choose a walk to a natural hot springs, try your hand at fly fishing, or just relax on the beach with a cold microbrew, or maybe even a massage riverside.

Far & Away provides the highest level of wilderness luxury ... a complete organic menu nationally acclaimed, French and California wines, and a staff tending to guests' every need. You will end the day with dinner at table and chairs. Romantic dinners of tantalizing treats are complemented by fresh linens, fan folded napkins, china and unsurpassed personal service.

Hot coffee or tea and hot water to wash the sleep from your eyes will be brought to your tent each morning. With two large sweepboats on the trip (to carry all gear and equipment), the highest standard of fresh organic food, produce and dairy is served. Our chef, Kenny Rudolph, will be happy to accommodate any special menu preferences.

The Middle Fork is a paradise lost for river adventures’ seeking the excitement of white water rafting. Challenge rapids in an inflatable kayak, with a paddle boat team, or a exciting day of blue ribbon native cutthroat trout fishing. - Our guides will provide unlimited instruction.

Hiking opportunities abound along the river. The trail system is well maintained. Many people will choose to hike during the morning, day or evening. Your guides are familiar with this river corridor and will be happy to provide you with excellent trail and side canyon hike suggestions. Paddling is great, but there's a whole new world waiting for those who walk. Old homesteads, undisturbed wildlife, and the solitude of being in the largest wilderness in the lower 48 await you.

JOURNEY’S END – September 1, 2010

The Middle Fork has it all --- It's magic reminds us there is more to life than schedules and deadlines, timelines and hurried days. The river will renew your spirit and touch your soul. You will leave this wilderness with memories for years to come.
